I am finishing up the fourth book of the House of Night series while everyone gets the Vampire Diaries for our club. It's about your average high school girl, Zoey Redbird, who was marked as a vampire. In their world vampires are no secret and they have special boarding schools for them once they have been marked. Zoey was given special powers by the vampire goddess and finds that she is extremely powerful. She goes through the normal teenage problems (friends, boyfriends, fitting in etc.) but she must also sort through the additional and bizarre responsibilities that come along with her special powers.
I have enjoyed reading these books however, I sometimes found myself confused by Zoey's boy troubles. There were a few different boyfriends at one point and sometimes I wasn't sure which one I was rooting for. However the oh-so-yummy Erik Night has kind of been my constant crush of the book. I just wish Zoey would finally realize that he is her constant crush too! Or is he?
Overall the series has been entertaining. The characters are not overly mature which I really liked. It really takes on the teenage viewpoint of high school which makes it a really fun read. It also proves the point that with great power comes great responsibility. Everyone messes up, including Zoey, but everyone deserves forgiveness. I am looking forward to the next book of the series!

Ya,we could totally make her author of the week. Or month even. We could just ask her for an interview if it's easiest for her or ask about an author spotlight for a few days. We would make her an honorary admin which means she could post and answer questions as she pleases.

i loved the house of night books. they kick ass! i just read the 5th book and Stark is HOT. Erik is a creep like i alway knew he would be and this thing with Heath i getting old. why wont she leave him alone so he can get over her all ready. oh and Zoey is a bad ass i wish i had powers like her.
